The Sri Lankan Examination Commissioner General W. M. N. J. Pushpakumara announced the best performing schools in the 2012 A/L examination according to the performance by Subject and School.

In this ranking Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo came first and second in the science and maths subjects in the Island level. However Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo got the first place in the Commerce & Arts section by their unbelievable education performance in the 2012 year A/L examination.
