The Sri Lankan Examination Commissioner General W. M. N. J. Pushpakumara announced the best performing schools in the 2012 A/L examination according to the performance by Subject and School.   In this ranking Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo came first and second in the science and maths subjects in the Island level. 2013 Grade 5 (Year Five) Scholarship examination results to be released on the 1st week of October 2013. Sri Lanka Examinations commissioner General W.M.N. J. Pushpakumara states that year 5 scholarship exam results will be released on the 1st week of October to www.doenets.lk Web Site. The Grade 5 Scholarship examination was held on August 25 in 2836 centres with 329725 students sitting for the exam. Examinations commissioner further stated that the grade 5 scholarship examination was held successfully and there were no issues or malpractices reported. 2013 G.C.E. Ordinary Level examinations (O/L Exam) will be held from December 10 to 20, said Sri Lankan Commissioner General of Examinations, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara. He said that 384,000 school applicants and 196,100 private applicants will sit for the examination this year, which will be held at 4,312 centers.
