Communication means imparting or sharing information. It may be news carrying joy or sorrow. Early days people sent messages through Pigeons and animals. Later they sent letters through postman and telegram for urgent message about sickness or deaths, Now of course these have lost their significance. In some cases letters are essential for many purposes like, Invitation, Certificates and important document. Letters have a sentimental value. Our grand parents have a liking to hear their loved ones letter read by another due to their poor eye-sight. Phone conversation too may not be suitable for them to hear.
But now of course telephone, telex, television and radio is versatile among every body. Mobile phones have become common thing in everybody life. People have realized that there’s no life without a mobile. It’s convenient to convey any message in every form SMS is less cost. Computer is another revolution. It has brought the whole world closer. The younger and grownups communicate at office or home on E-mails and Internet, Fax machines play the main role in everybody’s job and activities, to make life more life more easy and comfortable.
The memorable person who has served the down trodden people is Princess Diana. She was married to Prince Charles the son of Queen Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the six children of the Spencer family. Royalty was in her blood. She was a kind-hearted lady who never hesitated to mix up with public, and take part in community work, which the royal family objected. She had to face much harassment in the palace but she didn’t bow down to their orders.
Finally she had to face the divorce order, and live alone. Anyhow she continued her charity service to under privileged citizen. She helped the poor Cancer victims. Helped cancer Foundation when visited Pakistan. She went to Somalia and did abundant service to H.I.V Victims. Diana was a main asset for the Anti-Land mine movement. Such a characteristic lady lost her life at the age of thirty six while going in a car. While traveling in car she was chased by the paparazzi who tried to take photographs of her while the car crashed to the post and she died on the same spot. Diana queen of people had a tragic death. She was a candle in the wind which faded away. I appreciate her brave and significant decision very much
Our English Teacher Miss Karuna Rajakaruna, a fair tall lady with long curly hair which she plaits and she looks so attractive in pretty sarees. She must be 30 years old. Now going abroad to lead a married life.
I thought of writing about her dedicated service to our school. She had been teaching English in every grade. She is popular in our school because of her friendly habits and for all the hidden talents in her. She is good in playing Net – ball, and also good in music and dancing. Whenever teachers ask her for help, she is willing and ready. She also assists the neighboring schools in music and dancing as well as judging netball matches held between other schools. For English Day Competitions she trains the students to perform well, in speech and drama competition.
We had many musical Instruments in the music room. No one was bothered to teach us, but she started it well with the help of other talent hidden teachers and brought up a Music band She is very sensitive in every deed. She has got a good academic qualification in university. She is dedicated to teaching, and punctuality is a good set up for her prosperity. She has a better future Now she has to serve her family to lead a prosperous life.
Mother Theresa was an embodiment of love and charity. She was the founder of the sisters of the missionaries of Charity, in India, Her mission spread rapidly to many parts of the world. She was an outstanding example of such a mission who served the lowliest in streets and slums. Mother Theresa was born to Albanian parents in 1910 on August 26th. At the age of eighteen she submitted to the call of God and entered the Loretto Convent in Doublin. She became a nun in 1931. She was offered teaching appointment in Calcutta.
She was anxious to serve among the suffering in the slums in Calcutta. So began by teaching five children under a tree, in the streets. Some years later she was provided a building and twelve nuns too joined the congregation, which was approved by the Holy Vatican. She also introduced white cotton Saree with a blue border for the congregation. She provided a happy death for those suffered from deadly diseases and looked after unwanted children. Her death occurred on September 5th in 1997, at the age of eighty – seven. I admire such a leading mother for her service to the poor and disabled. She had loving trust in God.
Little less than half the population in South Asia are children. Children in South Asia also make up a quarter of the children in the world. Therefore their experiences are a good measure of human as well as child rights. The governments of South Asia have recognized children as an important responsibility. Also international agencies have dedicated certain periods for the development of children such as the Decade of the Girl Child and the Decade of the Rights of the Child.
Despite such agreements however children in South Asia continue to have their rights violated by state agencies, armed gangs and even the family. Many Children in South Asia also die and a large number of those who survive are malnourished. Many also become homeless due to poverty and family breakdown. These children are exposed to violence and exploitation.
