Conclusion: Due to heavy rain experienced in mid May 2016, five districts were heavily affected by landslides.
I. Rainfall up to 350 mm for 24 hours was experienced in some parts of Sri Lanka in mid May 2016.
II. The districts Kegalle, Rathnapura, Kaluthara, Badulla and Kandy were highly affected due to very heavy stormy
rain that caused flood and landslide in the month of May 2016.
III. Due to mid May 2016 rain, the wave of heat experienced in the country in April/May 2016 was cooled down.
